How it works

How TopPost works
TopPost works in five steps. Upload the footage you shot, point it at a template or one of your past videos, and the agent builds the edit in that style. Chat to refine it, then push it to your calendar, and TopPost posts it to TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn.
The five steps from raw footage to a posted video
- 1
Upload your footage
Drop in the clips you shot: phone video, camera files or screen recordings.
- 2
Point it at a look
Choose a template, or one of your own past videos to copy its style. Add a note for the agent if you like.
- 3
The agent edits
TopPost builds the whole first edit: it cuts the footage, removes silences, styles captions and adds motion graphics, transitions, sound effects and B-roll.
- 4
Chat to refine
Open the edit and change anything in plain language (“add a zoom punch on the hook and a whoosh”), or tweak it by hand on the timeline.
- 5
Schedule and post
Send it to the calendar. TopPost writes the social caption and publishes to TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn.
What does the TopPost agent actually edit?
The TopPost agent does the editing labour a person would otherwise do on a timeline. That’s the part that takes hours, not the filming:
- Auto editing and cuts
- Chat to edit
- Simple timeline for hand edits
- Auto captions
- Remove silences
- Motion graphics from a prompt or a screenshot
- Ditto: copy any past edit’s look and cadence
- Templates
- B-roll
- Memes
- Sound FX
- Transitions
- Review links with comments
- Social caption writing
- Calendar scheduling
- Auto publishing
How TopPost keeps your style consistent
TopPost’s Ditto saves the DNA of every edit you make: the captions, motion graphics and look, and the cadence of the cuts. Drop in new footage, pick that video instead of a template, and the agent edits the new footage the same way, in the same rhythm. Every video becomes a template, so a month of content looks like one brand, not thirty separate projects.
This is why batching works. The first edit sets the decisions, and every edit after it reuses them instead of starting from zero.
Sharing an edit with clients and teammates
When a client or teammate needs to see an edit, share a review link. It replaces review-by-email: each cut is a link that plays the current version, and comments sit on the video where the problem is. Reviewers don’t need an account. You chat the fixes to the editor, or connect Claude and it reads the comments and makes the changes itself, so the third revision round takes minutes instead of an afternoon.
Running TopPost from Claude or Codex
You can also connect Claude or Codex to TopPost over MCP. The assistant then runs the same steps: upload, edit, hand you a review link and read your timestamped comments there, then fix and schedule. Edits made by your own AI use no TopPost credits, so you pay for storage only.
